We are so excited that Louisa & Julie's successful application for the planting of trees for the Queen's Jubilee is coming to fruition. Please note the invitation that has been sent home and in this newsletter to the commemoration of the Queen's Jubilee. We look forward to seeing many of you at 2.00pm on October 14.

Over the past two weeks our students have run many kilometres collectively at the Fun Run with Bracken House running the most laps. Students from Years 3 to 6 represented St Roch's at the District Athletics. Congratulations to all students particularly Ellie, Gus and Joab who will now represent us at Divisions. Three teams of Year 3 and 4 students participated in the AFL Gala Day playing three games of footy against other schools. Our Preps students had a long walk to Gardiner's Creek on Tuesday morning as part of their Religion and Inquiry units. They were mesmerised by Julie's wealth of knowledge of the waterway systems. What fun our students had today on Footy/Sports Colours Day!! There was an abundance of colour in our playground today as we celebrated the sporting culture of Melbourne.

This afternoon has been spent enjoying footy rotational activities. A huge thanks to Marjie King for organising this and all of the staff for their vibrant participation. We also thank the Year 5 and 6 students who led each activity. A special thanks to Anthony Lynch for providing his time to run a footy clinic this morning with the Year 1 and 2 students.

We wish our community a safe and happy break with their families over the next two weeks and we look forward to seeing you again in Term 4.
