Our Wellbeing is Woven into Every Day
At St Roch’s we focus on building relationships. Wellbeing is integral to learning excellence and ultimately to overall health and life success.
Our Wellbeing Hub is an important part of the wellbeing program. Students are invited to this safe and supportive space to practice self regulation techniques including breathing, mindfulness and play based activities to foster resilience. Our school counsellour works in this space weekly and with the wellbeing team supports the diverse learning needs of all students.
We promote wellbeing through Mindful Monday and Wellbeing Wednesday activities, Circle Time, Restorative Practices approach and our Buddy Program all of which build students’ engagement, social and emotional capabilities and positive behaviour choices.
We are proud to be a Positive Behaviours for Learning school. Our motto every child, everybody, every day directs our decisions and actions ensuring all members of our school community achieve success by being respectful, responsible and resilient.
Our classrooms have predictable, calm and safe learning routines embedded into every lesson.

Learning Diversity
Every student has their own aspirations, learning needs, strengths and interests. At St Roch’s Learning Diversity is enacted through an inclusive pedagogy. We respond to every student and their unique characteristics, with high expectations for achievement enabling each student to flourish. Intervention, extension or enrichment programs are tailored to the individual needs and abilities of each student, along with personalised learning plans, adjustments to learning and targeted support. Parents and staff meet termly during Program Support Group meetings to collaboratively plan individualised academic, social and emotional goals. Diversity is celebrated and valued as integral to the whole community.
